Mountain Christian School was established in 1975 as a ministry of Mountain Christian Church. Accredited by The Association of Christian Schools International and The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, our goal is to offer a balanced educational program where excellence permeates our learning atmosphere as we work together to equip our students in the areas of faith, knowledge, service, and leadership.
Through daily Bible classes and weekly chapel services, our students learn how they can come to know God, to follow principles found in His word, and to serve and glorify him through their lives. Above all, our mission is to develop well-educated, servant leaders equipped for a life of discipleship. We want our students to be “fishers of men.”
Our Christian faculty is committed to challenging students and engaging them in higher order thinking skills. Through proven methodologies and a curriculum of the highest quality, our trained staff is dedicated to helping children grow academically, socially, physically and spiritually. Eighty percent of our teachers are certified through the Association of Christian Schools International. All of our faculty participate in courses and workshops designed to keep them informed and updated on current trends and practices.
MCS has established a reputation for exemplary academics in a Christ-centered environment. Our cutting-edge technology enables students in Kindergarten through eighth grade to apply technical skills to a variety of classroom projects and assignments. Our interactive SMART Boards in every classroom enhance learning by integrating hands-on technology into daily lessons. Spanish is taught in grades five through eight.
From band and chorus to drama and art, programs in the cultural arts provide students unique opportunities in which to showcase their gifts and talents. The MCS sports program, including soccer, cross country, basketball, and cheerleading, offers a tradition of both academic and athletic excellence. Additional extra curricular opportunities include Student Government, Bible Quiz, and the worship team.
